I was in Israel last week for a conference and workshop, and on the first day before proceedings began a few of us took a day trip to the old city of Jerusalem. The day started with beautiful panoramic views overlooking Jerusalem from the ‘governor palace’ promenade, after which we headed off to visit the city of David, the Wailing Wall and toured the old city’s various religious quarters and markets. After lunch we walked towards the ‘Via Dolorosa’ and visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Overall, it was a fantastic and highly recommended experience. The people we met were friendly and extremely passionate about their respective cultures. A real ‘eye-opener’!
