William Eggleston is one of my favourite photographers. He has an amazing ability to capture the inherent geometry of a scene, and the things we take for granted in everyday life. Here is my homage to a great photographer of the banal. All the images were shot on 35mm film with the Contax G2 camera, which Eggleston is said to have used later in his career, and a camera still favoured by artists and fashion photographers today (e.g., Juergen Teller). By the way, the film was scanned by me with the Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 film scanner. You can view some of Eggleston’s work on Artsy’s William Eggleston page.
