This blog post is for all you Genesis fans out there. And for those thinking of getting tickets to see this iconic British band play on The Last Domino? Tour.
I’ve been a fan of Genesis (and Phil Collins) since the ’80s and went to see them live in Birmingham recently (now Covid restrictions have eased). It’s unlikely this Progressive Rock band will continue playing with Collins as lead singer given his current ill health (although the songs still sounded amazing). This last tour with the original lineup made the concert more emotional for many fans as was clear on the night.
If you’re in any doubt about whether Genesis still sounds great, let me reassure you that the performance was amazing. The audience gave a standing ovation to every song. The stage lighting and visual content were phenomenal.
Mike Rutherford (guitarist and bassist) and Tony Banks (keyboardist) were flawless in their performance. Phil’s sons (Nic Collins) played on drums, and the band were also accompanied by guitarist Daryl Stuermer, who has been touring with Genesis since 1978.
For musicians in their 70s, the show was incredible. Respect!!!
